I have been doing some reasearch into animal testing and come across another shocking discovery. The companys who supply your cat and dog food use cats and dogs to to test there products, but the way they use them are so cruel they have't to go through such painful torture. An investigation went undercover to the company who supply iams(BEWARE they found cats and dogs left piled on a filthy chipped floor dead after having chuncks of muscle hacked from their thighs, dogs surgically debarked(meaning voice box had been removed) and left in their cages to go stir crazy.People who own pets obviously love them so why are we buying from these companys to support whats going on behind closed doors, they make out they are giving the best to our pets, but they are so hypocritica.,All they care about is making money out of our animals. Please write to these companys and tell them you will not be buying there products.

This is a pretty good post. At this point, the average educated dog owner realizes that IAMS conducts/conducted cruel tests on innocent animals, yet many continue to use it. Sadly, many feel that because IAMS is overpriced, it must be high-quality dog food. However, it is not high-quality dog food, and those who purchase IAMS are supporting animal cruelty.

I encourage everyone to stop using cruel products, and to write to companies like IAMS. Tell them that you and your friends will no longer use IAMS because of the strongly documented animal cruelty.

I am aware of this horrible treatment of animals and have been preparing my own pet food for some time, I thought you may also be interested in knowing, since you are obviously compassionate towards animals that most tuna that is caught these days (found in most cat foods) is still caught by drag net fishing. Drag net fishing (for those who don't know) is where they drop huge nets into the water that reach the sea bed and then drag them gathering up everything in their path. The problem with this is that dolphin pods follow the schools of tuna, the fishing trawlers follow the pods of dolphin to find the tuna and then end up scooping them into the nets. A number of years ago there was a ban put on drag net fishing because of the huge amount of deaths caused to the dolphins (and other marine life), and the tagging of tuna products with "Dolphin Safe" started, however this label is able to be used by any company if dolphins caught in a drag net is thrown back alive. They may be alive when they are thrown back into the water but allot of them have fins or beaks broken off by the nets which mean they are dead soon after.
Since discovering this I have not and will not purchase any pet or human product that contains tuna, and have discovered that salmon tastes just as good.
