Retin-A without a doubt unless you are allergic. Be patient, it works down below the surface so you may see zits coming up where you thought there were none. Over time the skin will exfloiate let it keep on doing that...in fact get two strengths one for severe breakouts and one, milder to use two three times a week for the rest of your life LOL...No, seriously I did this and today my complexion looks like a baby's butt....

Home remedies? I am not to keen on that..just make sure you keep your skin squeaky clean, use a buff puff or a loofa to keep the blackheads out of the pores..no picking, squeezing, etc. Use common sense. OH!!! Keep Retin-A away from under the eyes and the eyes. The skin there is to sensitive and you will end up with a very bad allergic reaction, red, swollen painful skin under the eye, and most likely a doctors visit.. Be careful, wash your hands before and after using.

Freederm gel is a great way to treat pimples, but it depends on your skin type, i'd suggest going to the doctor and they'll tell you what to get that will suit your skin type.
The best home remedie is probably having a bowl of boiling water, putting witch hazel in it and putting your head over it, covering your head with a towl, it opens up you pores and gets deep into the skin.
