It should be screwed or nailed on where it would meet the cupboard base. Its called a kick board i think. The screws could be hidden by those little covers you get but if not you should be able to lever it off & re use

For normal grease, I use Formula 409 and a damp cloth or sponge. If the grease build-up is old or stubborn, go to the painting section of a hardware store or home store and buy either TSP or TSP substitute. This stuff is incredible, but you have to wear gloves... and don't drip it on any surfaces like wood.

It sounds like a "kick Board" and you should be able to just pull it away. It has clips at the back and should not be screwed down. Hope this helps and if it is screwed down its easy to replace and you can buy one fron most DIY shops.

its a kick plate, and it should come off easily enough. check if there are any screws at the edges of the cupboard sections, remove those and wedge a knife in and lever it out.

My kickboard is screwed into the front of the units. The screws are covered by little white plastic circles which can be removed when you want to.

just try to lever it out, it ( hopefully ) is just held on with clips of some kind.
It has to come off one way or another, anyway.
