It's a funny joke and it had me laughing. But I have met many educated, cutured and intelligent Americans in my life.

Mainly from the Northern States, it must be said. We tend to think of Americans as rednecks but this is due to the malevolent influence of Bush.

Let's give the Americans a break. the vast majority of them find Bush just as embarrassing as WE do.

Not all Americans are unculured, ignorant rednecks. Some are highly intelligent and even good company provided you can translate the strange garbled English they speak.
I am concerned by the cult of the celebrity which is stronger there, but also the strength of feeling for non-denominational Christian extremism which leads people to stop thinking when they consider their 'culture' or way of life is underthreat.
Despite the fact that American culture is a mish mash of dozens of nations, cultures, religions and languags.
I find it fascinating that the leadership of the US beleives that a nation of 300m people will remain dominant when India will have that many individuals in primary school inside a generation. And that says nothing for China...

The americans are actually very nice people. I lived there for a year and found them to be a lovely race.

It is a bit harsh to judge them on one person that you've met or what you may have seen on TV.

It is like an american saying that the English are very proper.

I think that the culture thing is due to the fact that the north americas has only been populated for the last 300 years therefore they have a lot less history than us.

The real American culture is the Native American culture. America is made up of immigrants so there is no one culture it's a bunch of cultures, so when someone says we have a bad culture or no culture you saying most of the countries in the world have bad or no culture. From what I have gathered everyone think's we are rednecks, but most of us really, really aren't. Redneck's live in southern states, I live in upstate New York, I don't shop at walmart, I don't own a gun, I don't like Mcdonalds, and I don't live in a trailor, and there are very smart people from the US, my uncle had to right a 500 page thesis, and it's all in mathematical and scientific terms, he became a rocket scientist, people really shouldn't judge people or country's when they really haven't met the person or people.

I'm sure everybody from your country has a perfect knowledge of everything, because only then would you be able to judge an entire country based off of one person that you happened to meet God knows where.

You can't judge and insult everyone
just because of one person.I hate
people like that.Everyone needs to
shut up about the Americans.
Just because one person is overweight,
doesn't mean everyone is.I'm tired of it.
That's possibly why most Americans
stay in their country.Too many rude,
insulting people everywhere else.

I think you are absolutely right. It is not fair to judge the whole country just because most of them are very similar.

I had a good laugh. Thanks buddy.
