I use to think so. But after spending 17 years trying to help my old man to change his cheating ways, I finally gave up. Men have to see that whatever their problem might be, an end result will only benefit them in some way. If you won't color them pictures to look at showing step by step why the change will be beneficial for them, then they are lost. I do not think that a man could ever change for longer than a month. That's their limit to keeping the "little woman" happy.

Theoretically - absolutely. Practically - Hell No!!!!
Just kidding.
To answer your Q seriously now...Yes, A man can change. But only HE can change himself. Meaning, a woman cant change a man, unless HE wants to change.
I believe in people too - even more if they believe in them self.

When a man and woman have a relationship.......USUALLY.........the man goes into the relationship hoping the woman won't change and she does, and the woman goes into the relationship thinking he will change and he doesn't. Anybody can change with their own motivation, man or woman.....but if you want a good indication of what someone is going to do in the future, look at their past.

Truth sets people free, on the other hand people become enslaved to their perception of truth. So to answer your question, can a man change, the answer is yes. But, only when he sees him-self able to. It is not you nor I who has to believe in people, but it's the man who has to believe in him-self.
man = all of human kind in a singular form

You believe in the power of redemption, good.
I'm not so sure. I think some people can change for the better, some for the worse, but you can not tell beforehand who will change one way or the other.

Change is always possible. It requires true desire and a considerable amount of effort. Support from friends and family is an invaluable tool in the process. And no one should expect change to happen overnight; patience is required from all involved.

Sure under the right environmental consequences. But its hard if not impossible to change whats unconditionally reinforcing. Such as sex, food, cigarettes, and money. Any attempt to try and change the behaviors aimed at stopping these operants is difficult.

Depends if what you want him to change is by "nature" (born with it) or "nurture" (trained and educated to do it). Cannot change his genetics, and personality traits that he inhereted, but a man can change something that he was trained to do, as long as he becomes self conscious about it, and aware of the need to change.
