After asking my question in correlation to Abraham, i realise that most answers do not believe in the Bible as a true story. I do, simply by the virtue of it being one of the books with the oldest stories ever written. It also has this stories that relate to conversation with the creator in which case i would say, at least we have written theories that would guide us on the God of Abraham, and secondly, with a tribal theme that can be traced to date among the jewish race.

All i have is this book, and my faith, and ofcourse miracles that confirm Gods precense to me...

Is it possible that a man could be tortured and crucified to death, lay in a tomb until rigor mortis had fully set in and the body began to stink and then get up and walk out better than He ever was? His Resurrection is the central fact of the Bible. Our calendar begins with His birth. Every atheist acknowledges Him when he puts a date on a check. Therefore, the Bible, and all of human history turns on this one historical event. The death and Resurrection of Christ. Jesus was a Jew who quoted Moses and the prophets often(a fact frequently forgotten by Christians and Jews) but if it were possible to separate the Bible and Christ(it isn't), and the whole Bible were proven as myth but the Resurrection of Christ were proven true then Christianity would stand and the rest of the Bible could be taken on faith. On the other hand, if the whole Bible were proven absolutely true but Christ's Resurrection were proven false then Christianity would fade away. As Paul said "If He be not risen than we are among all people the most pitiful fools. It is difficult for one to push all of their preconceived notions aside and objectively follow the evidence, particularly if one rejects the bible to begin with. But if you do so, you will find that the preponderance of the historical evidence supports the Biblical accounts of His Resurrection. There is a collection of evidence against the Christ but it is much weaker and based largely on supposition drawn from sketchy data (ex: Many crucified criminals weren't placed in a tomb therefore Christ wasn't placed in a tomb). Despite the inferiority of the evidence, the skeptical mind must accept it and reject the stronger evidence because of their basic belief that miracles, true prophicy and Resurrections don't happen because they can't happen...they're impossible. Therefore any record that says they did must be a lie(mythology). And so any examination of the Bible becomes an attempt to explain how the lie happened. Regarding your exposure to skeptics in your previous question, it is a sad fact that you cannot make someone see who won't open their eyes, you can't prove anything to someone who won't hear your evidence and you can't argue someone to the truth. But you can prove it to your self. In fact you have a responsibility to prove it to yourself..."Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" 1 Peter 3:15

First you have to realise what the bible is - a collection of stories put together over 200 years "after the event" by a church which simply wanted to control its people. A large number of stories were left out, but are no more, or less, relevant. There is no doubt that a lot of what is written has a basis in truth - places and customs that are known to have existed for example - but even today a good fiction writer will do his research and include details to make his story plausible, relating places and events that actually happened for example....

That's debatable, but you do have ancient Egypt and the mesopotamian references. Try reading the Enuma Elish or the Ana Elish (there are many historical Biblical parallels in both the Bible and these ancient near-eastern works). There are also a lot of historical "orientalisms," kind of like metaphors that one can only find by scouring works or the direct tect (ancient Greek or aramaic) of the Bible. So short of understanding these languages and research, and explaining it to a person who has done the same research, it is kind of hard.

this is tough to answer. the obvious choice is to prove that god exists (which no one can conclusively do) and that these "stories" weren't merely made up as fiction that spread on around the world for so long that it became acepted as truth. (i know people would argue that but cant prove nor disprove it). my theory is that a long time ago the first ever telling or a story of god came about as a way to explain things to people because no one knew the answers. also it may of been invented as a method of controlling people by threatening "acts of god" as punishment. ie floods, femine, drought etc. we all know what causes most of these things (weather conditions) yet still claim to be derived from a mystical being. no one as yet as proved the existence of god and never will. there may be evidence to support that a man named jesus existed and may well of been a prophet (story teller). the belief he healed people may be more phycological then miracle (maybe the first physcologist) meaning that rather then healing a wound with "magical powers" he more so reassured the patient of their wellbeing which became comforting to the person allowing themselves to feel better. to put it bluntly to believe in god is to believe in yourself. if u think positive good things will happen. we are god. god is our inner concscious that needs to be told we are good or bad. the belief in god comes from within so if im asked if i believed, ill let u decide for urself.

Here is one instance to prove that bible is true.
I assume that you have read the bible, then you must be aware that there are so many things that were done by God which is beyond human, like for example in old testament, God gave baby to Abraham when he was 100 years old, thats unimaginable, but God can do. He separated the sea, so that moses and his people can walk thru it, my brain cannot even think how it would look.
In the new testament, Jesus touched and blind man was healed, Jesus called and dead man came to life. There are so many, you can read on.

But answering your question to why so strongly it is true because,
IT IS STILL HAPPENING TODAY.
I have seen with my own eyes childless women conceiving, cancer/aids/tumour and whatever disease you want to list get healed when God touches.
Ask God and talk with Him sincerely to get your questions answered. You cannot understand God with our brain because God created us and our brain. So just talk to Him with simplicity and humbleness, He will surely answer you call.

Remember what Pope John Paul II said - the Bible doesn't tell you how heaven was made, but it does tell you how to get there.
