Seriously. I don't know how to get her in, or even why she won't come in. She seems scared. She did this once before and someone said that perhaps someone had been mean to her (I think it is an evil neighbor). I put her out to go potty and now she won't come in. If I try to just grab her, she takes off. Help!

(I will also post this under the pets catagory, but need quick answer)

Thanks guys, I got her in. She was just playing head games with me and trying to prevent me from getting any sleep tonight. I went to open the door to try some of the tricks, and she ran in before I had a chance to try any of them. Cats!

hahahahaha My cats do this all the time, the little rats. It is like a game to them. I can't relax when I know they are outside, they need to be curled up on my bed like good kitties.

Glad you got her in, pats from me.

Put any food or thing she likes near the door where she can reach. she'll come in when she wants to, or when she smells something she likes (cats have quite a good sense of smell). warm milk, fish, canned food, wool or even a basket lined with warm blankets (does she have a favourite thing?) to attract her. do not try to grab her; she'll be frightened even more and her trust in you will decrease. after she returns, keep an eye on her. treat her well, shower her with love. don't let her get bullied by anyone after that.

Just keep calling her, and shake a cat treat bag, or offer her some other food. A cat I used to have associated eating with the can opener running for some strange reason, so all I had to do to get her inside was run the can opener.

give her what ever she likes the most, just set it out there and she will come up then when she comes close walk around her like ur going some were else (i know its too cold to be out there playing games w/ them) then grab here really quick! try not to make eye contact w/ her. Good luck!

p.s.
sometimes i give my kitty this voice like ur mom used to do when u were called by ur whole name. and that getts him to stay still even though he knows he's in trouble.

try to find what's in the house that is threatening the cat so much that it prefers to be cold and wet than warm inside.( we know cats hate the freezing wet cold).i bet it is something big çoz cats just don't get scared for nothing.

Try to lure her with cat's food, or take a blanket and wrap her body so she can't scratch you. After wrapping her with a blanket, you can lift her to your home and lock the doors...if your neighbours were doing evil things to your cat, it's wise to keep her from home rather than letting her roaming around...I heard alot of neighbours like poisoning pet animals nowadays.

good luck

she'll come in when she's ready, but there is absolutely no need for a cat to go outside, it's dangerous (cars, dogs, evil neighbors, not to mention fleas, heartworms, and feline aids which is highly contagious) all cats are easily trained to use a litter box, my cat is 10 and he's never been outside.
