If the two countries merged,
Some us of may actually speak a second language,
we may eat together at the table,
welcome social times with our family,
take our other half out,
take care of our parents when old,
be less flashy with mobile technology,
be able to drink in moderation,
appreciate the food we eat,
be willing to try new things,
we'd proberbly turn our hatred against a certain minority,
there would be an increase islamic population,
we'd have two "capitals",
stuggle to decide which currency to keep,
and finally,
we would be queing at the bakers for 30 mins a time.....................anything else?

Quite apart from this being impossible without a war, nothing would change, the British go to France and eat British food the french go to London eat French food why would being officially the same county make any difference?

If we had of merged we may have kept some family and social values - the UK's have crumbled - but the French protect their traditions and families fiercely. Their family structure is outstanding to ours currently.
Incidently I go to France, eat only French food and drink French wine, mix with the French and try and converse in French. I love the French and I do not go there for egg and chips!

Well, England and France used to be one country, and Scotland has had very close relations with France in the past, including French troops garrisoned here.

strategicaly speaking, if france left the european union and britain also it would be good, it would stop the advance of the european giant. as long as we each made our own laws and we were not bullied into crazy madness of the eu style. which would be ok, we have often been told to hate the french but i dont actualy know any, theres a lot of brits moving there so they cant be that bad, and they are cousins so, yea why not?

maybe not so much binge drinking which would mean that the makers of Street Crime would be out of a job.
i dont think britain could ever be merged with another country because of the geographical difficulties as well as the British public are too proud of our country to allow us to be merged.

Personal hygiene would be out of the window. Shower and bath sales would drop like a brick. And anyone that eats snails can`t be right in the head.

Assuming the union would have been well managed then we would be economically better off by virtue of reduced import/export duty and access to a wider market.
No doubt cultures would have blended too which of course would make us mentally richer too.

Stranger things have actually happened - we seem to have become the 51st state of the USA by the back door I don't think the French would want us now as we are tainted goods
