How can we erase caste system from India?

Being a SC/ST etc was a curse before. Now its a boon. Can we come out of this and give in a culture that is free from all this barriers and all people are treated alike?

everyone knows caste system is big barrier in our soceity, if only one will take step against this, than other will join hands, God knows u will take first step...but this ia wht. made by people,its not aeasy job, this will take years & years to take this system out of india, all politicans will take gain from this. so they will never do this... as u know everyone wants profit even in love also.. may be u will be the 1 to take this step, but this fight is with our own people, so this will be difficult as our freedom in 50's. or just wait
as people r getting educated, so slowly slowly this is go not out of this country but from this world... in coming years the whole world will be the one...

Legally it has been. It's just that centuries of tradition cannot be easily erased by government edict. Just like there is still racism and sexism in the US even though the constitution forbids discrimination.

caste system as such has becum a gr8 issue....and in india well its very common....i dun think this will ever end untill and unless ppl get rid of their attitude and start thinkin like a literate person...!!

I think we should just leave other countries alone and let them figure everything out themselves, no matter what we do there is always going to be problems, intervention can cause wars, and no intervention can cause wars.

yes, if people like u start thinking this its no long when we have only one caste and that is MERIT.
