The fears are part of one's personality. Remember that personality can be affected by many factors, and that is the endless debate between nature versus nurture. How do we become who we are? Do we become who we are because we are already biologically pre-programmed by what we inherit from our parents or are we who we are because of the influence what is and who is around us? That is an age-old question and debate.
Personally speaking, I think kids may have the same fears as their parents due to constant exposure to their parents' personalities. Because they often see how their parents act, they also get to register in their conscious and subconscious selves what their parents prefer and what their parents don't prefer. Somehow, their own set of personal fears can be influenced by this outside factor; however, we are not yet sure if this can be proven in a biological way of thinking.
I suggest you consult psychology and behavioral neuroscience studies for the latest discoveries. Maybe they've discovered something that studies how personality can be inherited.

I Disagree With You Mztreasures999. My Father Inherited A Fear From His Father About Sickness. My Dad Used To Look Up In Medical Books For Instance If He Had A Cough, He Would Look Up In The Medical Book And Say "Oh No, I Have Pneumonia. I Have This Disease And So Forth.." I Also Have This Fear As Well. I Had A Sprain In My Toe And I Was Thinking That I May Have That Achille's Ankle Thing Or They May Have To Amptutate My Whole Foot. My Dad Didn't Teach This To Me, He Is Encouraging Me Not To Think Negatively Etc...
Also Fears Travel In Blood Because Me, My Mum, My Aunty (My Mum's Sister) And All Of My Brothers Have This Fear About Death. We Wonder Whats Going To Happen At Death, What Will Happen To Us And We Hate Seeing Dead Bodies At Funerals.
This May Be How Your Family Is Mztreasures999 But Its Definitely Not Mine. ;)

Many people inherit or not inherit fears from parents, relatives and other people in their social domain. Many times it can be related to the classical conditioning and operant conditioning models as to why it occurs. Other perspectives include psychodynamic and behavior explanations. If your mother is afraid of spiders, you may be afraid as well. The reality is that many of our fears are unfounded and can cause irrational fear of objects, places or situations. A spider can be squashed or picked up in a napkin and safely placed elsewhere, so the phobia is irrational. There are alternatives to this explanation in that in the past spiders may have been to blame for the death of our predecessors and that this fear became inherited. It helps when trying to explain why children will not eat vegetables which are good for them and most taste well.

anxiety, fobias included, have a genetic component that can be inherited. but you do not inherit the fobia as such, only a vulnerability to develop some sort of a similar disorder if the environment you live in offers enough stimuli to determine it and then maintain it.
it can pe possible for example that parents who fear rats will show signs of anxiety when seeing them on tv and the child, witnessing the scene and having a vulnerability towards anxiety which he inherited from his parents, may learn this same response.
remember also bandura´s theory: that we do not only learn by experiencencing the consequences of our own behaviors, but also by seeing others behave in a particular way.

Not so much inherit, as much as are taught the fears by their parents. Parents pass their fears and prejudices to their children by teaching them.
To Frenzied - I think you just illustrated my point. Your dad looked up his maladies when he had them, and you picked up on what he was doing. He may not have sat down and said "this is what you do", but you saw him doing it and you learned from his example. That's not something that you inherited from him like your hair color or eye color. It's something that you learned in your environment. As for the fear of death...most people fear death. It's an unknown and most people fear what they don't know. Again...environmental and learned. People learn the things that they perceive as normal that go on around them, and no one has a profound impact on this than the family. And that's for all families...even yours.

likely. a baby would have fears of issues because the baby looks as a lot because the figure, and imitates him/her. as an celebration, a figure is petrified of rhinoceros so the baby would imagine, oh rhinos are scary because mommy is afraid of them. No, it truly is not any longer genetic. Fears are not some thing you are able to inherit, it truly is more suitable like, the baby chooses to be petrified of them. If it grow to be genetic, the baby could nevertheless conquer the phobia. the picture of a baby will be blond because their figure is blond, notwithstanding the baby could dye the hair to make it black, only like you are able to conquer a terror.
