i feel your pain. i stopped just over 1 year ago and i smoked since i was 9yrs old 33yrs of smoking. the moods will pass but you need to help yourself by finding something to do when you feel these moods coming on i found walking was great walk to the shop and buy some chewing gum and take lots of vitamin C into your body this will also help you should be really proud of yourself as you have beaten the worst part of quitting and you will find the health benefits to you and your family will far out-weight all other expectations

Congratulations! Well done for giving them up! By now the nicotine has left your body, the carbon monoxide has cleared from your system, and the lining of your airways should be starting to clear out all the crud you've accumulated in your lungs.

You should find over the next week or two that your mood slowly but surely improves, and that you have a bit more energy too.

It's not uncommon for heavy smokers to start developing flu like symptoms or get chest infections around now, as your lungs try to clean themselves up, so make sure to get some vigorous exercise daily and take a multivitamin that includes ace vitamins for the next few weeks.

I wish you the best of luck!

It usually doesn't take too long, but it depends on how you smoked and how long you've been smoking for. But as long as it takes, if you give in to just the one cigarette, you know you'll be back at square one. So there's an incentive for you - you've gone 4 weeks and been through the mood swings, don't give in now or you'll be back where you started.

Mind you, I stopped smoking 2 years ago and I'm still ratty now and again.. maybe that's just me..

Until you choose for it to go. The nicotine is out of your body so you have no excuse for being moody. Maybe you were fed up all the time but the smoking masked it. Now you need to start doing some new things to replace the smoking - indulge yourself, have some treats (like a massage), take up a new sport or do the ISA Experience http://www.isaexperience.com

I gave up two years ago myself. It took about 3 months before I got by that stage but it will get easier as time goes on. I ate a lot of chewing gum instead of the ciggies and found that helped. I have now been off them for 2 years now and do feel better for it. The only problem I have now is that as well as replacing the ciggies with chewing gum I also replaced them with chocolate, cakes and crisps and put on 6 stones in weight. I now need to go on a diet to loose all the weight I put on. However you keep at it and good luck to you with it you are doing well.

untill your over your addiction you will be the same as you are now

this answer depends on how long you smoked for (basicly it usually a week for every year after 5 years tho this may not work as people smoked less than 5 can still take around 2 month to get over there addiction)

Blimey I wish I was as strong as you.. well normally I thought it was about 2 months. Or was it 2 weeks? No it's two months until you fully let go of the cravings. I remember as my sister quit a few years back (november ish time as i remember it was just after halloween. She was a total dragon over christmas, new year up until my birthday in feb.

1 week ago. You are the master of your moods now, look for reasons to laugh and stop and think before you 'allow' yourself to growl. You are genuinely choosing to growl and it's not the absence of nicotine.
Congratulations for stopping!

sooner or later you are gonna get over it. You are just going through a stage that you need to keep holding out. Would you rather have your family hate your for a cuople of months or have them be mad at you for smoking weeds

I'm a trucker myself mate but I used patches to help me. Didn't get moody, didn't want a ciggy and I've been off the weed for just over 3yrs now. Keep going, it's worth it.
