Hi,
Lots of interesting responses, I see.
I suppose being asked to do a sound check on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury in 1985, followed by the real thing. I think it was a band warm-up called Geordie. That's appropriate, as I am originally a Geordie.
Or perhaps my 21st birthday, when we all went to see Slade in St. Albans. It ended in beers.
Oh dear I am getting old, so may I throw in 10cc at Knebworth.
Brilliant ! The Rolling Stones were top of the bill, but appeared very late, and mostly pi**ed.
I look forward to seeing Mike Oldfeild again, with his talents in Ipswich next year, so it remains an internal question as to which is best.
Certainly none of this bang, bang, bang stuff.
No - I am not a fuddy-duddy, but it seems that live music has gone downhill.
Cheers,
Bob.

Alice Cooper: He came to Cleveland last October for Freaker's Ball and my boyfriend won tickets on the radio. It was awesome. When we first went into the ampitheatre, the first thing we noticed was a stiltwalker. And people were walking around in cool couple costumes, like a coroner guy with a chick wearing a body bag and a nurse and a mental patient. And we sucked on Margaritas and Daquri's while watching a guy juggle swords and lit torches. Then Cooper came out and put on an awesome show and we even got to see the Guillotine. That was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

Thats a tuff question, cant say which was the best, both Ozzy and ACDC at the Seattle Collisium were fantastic. But so was Metallica at Portland Meadows. Although, believe it or dont, Twisted Sister put on a hell of a show opening for Iron Maiden. Dee snider is a one man show. He rocks harder than about any band Ive seen.

Seen quite a few over the years. But the best out of the lot was The Jam, seen them twice all the way back in 1982. Never seen another band with such raw power. Awesome.

Been to loads over nearly 30 years - huge venues (Knebworth & Wembley Stadium) & smaller (University gigs) & most have been pretty damn good but by far the BEST was last year when I saw Elton John at Canterbury Cricket Ground! It was truely amazing & having seen him many, many times before at bogger venues, he was by far, at his very best. No big backing band or hoardes of singers - just him & half a dozen exceptional musicians. It was a magical, memorable evening & even my husband who has never really liked him, was amazed & is now a bit of a convert! Goes to show, it's not the size of the concert that counts.

I've not been to too many, but my all time favourite was Iron Maiden in Dec 2006 in Manchester M.E.N. They played their latest album in full (A matter of life and death)! and had some awesome special effects.
The tunes they played, (Including some of the best older tracks) were fantastic and had me captivated!
The album cover has a tank, with Eddie, their mascot, standing on top of it, with zombie soldiers standing in front of it. They re-enacted this image on the stage. A 20 ft high tank rose up from the background, simulating rolling up a hill, and a huge eddie came out of the commander's hatch, with binoculars and red eyes. Fantastic! I can't wait to see them again!
