I am thinking of moving to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Anyone lives there or has been there? How's the place like? Is it safe, expensive? Any advice, comments are highly appreciated.

Mechanicsburg and for that matter, most of Southeastern PA is suburban. Prices are affordable when compared to coastal cities, but more expensive than say Pittsburgh or the Midwest.

You will be close to Baltimore, DC, and Philly, so that is an advantage if living in the burbs is not your style.

As for weather, think of Baltimore type weather. Cold winters (but not drastic like Minneapolis) and warm, humid summers (but not as drastic as say Atlanta).

Hmm. Well, I don't live there, but I see it's a suburb of Harrisburg and about as far inland as Williamsburg, the latter of which has an average annual temperature rating at the following site:

I guess you'll be pretty close to the state capital, so you can just go give the legislators crap about whatever you don't like.

I worked there for a year. It is safe and relatively inexpensive. I'm originally from Philly. I thought it was a pretty boring place. The first chance I got I transferred to New York.

we moved to PA from NJ six years ago. In almost everything PA is cheaper than NJ. Weather this winter has been uncharistically mild. We have had a cold spell this last week with the threat of snow.
