hanging, slaying, parade shooting..........whatever. A killer deserves punishment. the society decides the best punishment for whatever the crime is. To the Iraqis hanging is the best punishment for the crime Saddam was convicted for.
Societies will eventually evolve and learn that the best punishment for crime is not always death.

These hangings are just and anything less would undermine the efforts of the Iraq government. Democracy cannot move forward until this ugly business is put to sleep. No other government could have carried out the executions with out global out cry. The Iraq government needs to show the people they cannot afford to have murderers in power. No one really cares about theses bastards especially Saddam, this is just an ugly chapter in the history of Iraq. After we are gone and some other radical idiot challenges the government Saddam and his team will be forgotten

They are wrong! this morning again I awoke to the news of the brother having hanged and the "head severed when he hung" that was on Msn this morning (included link below). Rather gruesome news to wake up to, again, trying to shock people with the headlines.
Wrong because Saddam's hanging has "glorified" his life, ask anyone who was under his regime, they now say "it was better to live under his tyranny than to live with what they are facing today" this is from an elder person that lives in Iraq. In his lifetime he was a tyrant in his death he's a martyr. God always said be careful what you ask for, you just might get it, thousands of people have had their wish granted.
No sensationalism of his death would have been had, had they left him to rot in prison. They didn't solve anything, they infused anger in people who didn't have the chance to prosecute him for his other crimes. They angered the people world wide with the video of his hanging. Had that video not been shown maybe his death would have been worthwhile, Bush and Maliki are the 2 culprits in this game. I say game because it seems like Bush and Maliki don't care that there are thousands of young men out there fighting for a useless cause, these young men are DYING because of what these two old cronies believe in.

first of all- it relatively is not any longer our mentioned venture as a rustic to unfold democracy to the the remainder of the international. 2nd- the full and utter loss of something resembling a plan for the submit-war has left a vacuum in Iraq that isn't be in a position to be stuffed with sturdy intentions. third- How do lifeless Iraqis be certain my freedom? I relatively have a number of freedoms below Bush's "accountable till shown harmless" relatives contributors surveillance courses. Fourth- the only Iraqis residing how they desire to stay are people who have been given the hell out of there early. the only substitute between the consistent worry below Saddam and the consistent worry in the process the civil war that Bush bungled this united states into is that Saddam stored the utilities going. each and every of the blue inked thumbs interior the international won't be in a position to alter that. I relatively have some ocean front belongings in Arizona i desire to sell you. involved?

I watched the video, and was struck by how we were used to make it happen.Dont be fooled, one side is just as bad as the next over there, and both sides hate us.We should have never allowed this to take place, and now we will have to answer for it.It's also amazing to me how Stalin killed his millions, but was ok because he was an ally,Saddam was an enemy.History repeats itself.Want proof? America is almost a royal possesion again, the "royalty" this time being a select few politicians who make the rules, and back room deals, and take our freedom whenever they see fit.Personally I think King George would do us better, and that's a shame.

It is funny how Bush can walk into a country with no real reason for being there and kill a man's two sons and then hang the father out of mere vengeance. Don't get me wrong I know Saddam had a few screws loose, but how did Bush become the judge, jury, and executioner? All he has succeeded in doing with his "get saddam to make daddy proud" campaign is to further alienate the U.S. from even more countries. He has even succeeded in alienating Latin America. His only true success is his lack thereof.

I don't think the concern here is the hangings as much as it is the fact that the glorious media like their pound of flesh -- literally - and exposed joe.p to something they have no buisness knowing, we will never fully relate to what it is like out there. Leave the war to those that have to fight it. No-one wants to be out there, no-one expected it to go on so long, but I beleieve the media has played it's part in extending the war - it also has blood on it's hands.

There is no romance in war only suffering and death, In terms of a dignified death by way of the gallows or by guilotines the is no dignity in having your head placed in a noose nor on a chopping block.
For those who have committed horrendous crimes against humanity It is fitting that they suffer the coonsequences of thier actions

i think that part of the world would ask the same question but the problem is that we are all animals of this world and as important as we think we are, we are plagued with certain inhumane feelings that stick you either in the noose or the one pulling the lever what would you do?
