I agree.

Personally, I don't think anyone should care about the private lives of celebrities. Just because they act, or sing, or whatever, that means I should care about where they've been recently or who they're going out with?

I agree. Private lives should be kept private, regardless of the person's chosen profession. Yes, the celebrities are rich because of the public, but what they do when they are not working should not be made available to the world. Just because we watch someone's movies or listen to their music doesn't give us a right to know everything about them. Our children are educated by teachers, our food is grown by farmers, etc. -- does that mean it would be okay if we sent photographers to the location where those people live to find the dirt?

I agree. Let's put the paparazzi and "news" rags and TV "National Enquirer"s out of business. I don't care if Britney goes to buy a sweater or dumps some dork or "accidentally" flashes her cooze. If she records a CD or acts in movie somebody might be interested in, that's for public consumption. Who she hangs out with is really nobody's business and, really, nobody should be that obsessed with a "celebrity". Some information should be made public, though. Using Britney as an example, if she cancels a tour because she has pneumonia, that should be made public because people paid to see those shows. That she might be bar-hopping with...that other blond...why is THAT on TV or in the papers?

Put the question the other way : "The public should not buy magazines reporting "private" lives of celebrities".

That's a demand, that's why they supply. Didn't we always hear sales of magazine increase whenever "breaking private news"of stars being featured?

Why people are so obsessed with the lives of others is perplexing to say the least, but these individual deemed by society as "celebrities" shove themselves into the hot seat (kinda like running into an oven and blaming the stove for burning you...

i dont think anybody should care about someone elses life, unless its your own or your family, i think its kinda the same thing as being one of those peeping toms, but on a national level, you might as well stick your head over the fence and watch what happens in your neighbors yard, just because your famous doesnt mean you dont deserve the right to pivacy

Well, you can't blame the media for reporting it if all the simpletons are gonna keep reading it. It's kind of the same as saying we should ban fast food because of all the obese people. It's the publics fault.

Yes because celebrities are humans just like us none famous people and should have just as much privacy as the next person.
