First of all, I didn't expect the Eagles to go to the Supe, but I had the Chargers as Champs this year. To say the least, I'm surprised.
Give the Bolts credit, they lost to a good team. How they lost is what matters. The coach has a poor performance record for the playoffs, but it was several bone-headed penalties that weren't even marginal. Just like the Eagles rookie that negated the late game pass that put the Birds in great field position by moving before the snap.
The Pats aren't a pushover either. The AFC has been VERY competitive and their record is misleading. I pick New England to win the Super Bowl.
As for personnel moves, I have no clue.

The Chargers outran, outpassed the Patriots, virtually neutralizing Tom Brady when the Chargers were on defense. The Patriots spent much of the first half with bad field position thanks to Chargers special teams coverage. The punter pinned the Patriots behind their 20 several times including once at the 2 on a great save by Osborn. But that is of little comfort, because either (1) the Chargers committed a combination of bonehead plays and bonehead penalties to afford the Patriots the openings they needed or (2) good teams find a way to win and the Patriots did just what they had to do to win that game.
Either way we were dancing in my neighbors' living room when Gostkowski hit his field goal and Naeling (sp?) missed his. Enjoy having LT, Merriman and Gates in the ProBowl. The Patriots would rather be in Miami.

Lack of play off experience. The Pats. and Tom Brady are an experienced play off team and this is the firrt time for the Chargers. But they had gotten over the hurdle of being a rookie play off team. So next year they will stand a lot better chance.
As far as the Charger's field goal kicker missing the field goal to tie the game and send it into over time. That was an act of desperation. It was well out side his kicking range and they knew it but it was the only chance they had. they were hoping for some kind of wing and pray play like The Pats/ getting a penalty to get them closer.
Anyway now that they have the rookie Monkey off their back. There is next year.

I really think the "ghost" of Shottenheimer's incapacity to win playoff games made its play. I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the enormous amounts of balls they dropped. Those were not the real chargers. It was a completely different game from those of the regular season.
They gave away several drives, that makes a x4 mistake!!! The personal foul, the interception/fumble, the kickoff fumble, you name it. Lots of expensive mistakes.
The field goal was not a mistake, I mean, they had the game in their hands, don't try to make up for every mistake with a field goal!
I also think that they were not focused on the game, they thought they had a sure win and they were thinking ahead (Super Bowl, for instance), well, I know I was, lol.

No one should forget that it didn't help the Chargers kicker when Schottenheimer decided to go for it on 4th and 11 early in the first half. Talk about giving confidence (not) to your Pro Bowl kicker. Schottenheimer should be embarrassed. Probably the Pats would have won anyway, but to make such outrages calls throughtout the game is ridiculous--especially considering his history.

The Chargers streak will proceed this Sunday considering that Dallas has difficulty prevailing in December. i've got faith it is going to hold with the aid of the playoffs in spite of the shown fact that it won't supply them a ring. The Colts are going to win the great Bowl.

There is one reason that the Chargers lost in the playoffs. Marty Schottenheimer was the coach. He has proven time and again he ALWAYS chokes in the playoffs.
