As it already been said, Cyber Formula involves cars and racing, but more of the originial Mach Go Go Go (a.k.a. Speed Racer) type than the Initial D type.

EX-Driver involves cars from our era, with classic cars both old and new, but all of them are considered old since it took place in the future (late 2010's I think), where driving is a privilege to the skilled elites.

Though it focused more on high speed chase than racing, think of it as a high speed and more civilian version of "You're under arrest!", only more balanced since it had a male main character to handle the girl characters.

The movie version has an official racing event incorporated into the storyline. Its 'bonus movie' also includes a "You're under arrest!" and "Dirty Pair" type of story, with no male main character to handle the girl characters, so chaos rules in the story.

Mach Go Go Go (a.k.a. Speed Racer) and its later incarnation involves cars and racing.

Cyber formula .
But it is set in the distant future , so you won't be finding any Trueno , RX-7 , Skyline or any "real world" cars in this anime.
