I don't think freedom is dependent on the number of choices you have, but rather simply of the fact that you are free to choose or not to choose among whatever the choices there may be. However, freedom also comes with responsibility so whatever one decides, one must take responsibility for the consequences.

Choices are merely limitations in themselves upon freedom. For example, one can ask a child, "Are you ready to go to bed?" The child can answer either, "yes" or "no". Or, one can ask a child, "Do you want to go to bed now or after helping with the dishes?". The child, having only those two options to "choose" from, has less freedom in having only those choices. Freedom is open-ended. There are no choices in true freedom.

Freedom is never about having more choices or less, it comes from our willingness to follow, the voice of our heart. It is at its core a state of mind - Freedom to be our self is true freedom that we all have at all times, we just don't choose it that often.

2 choices makes reasonable freedom, 1 is no choice, and 3 or more choices increases doubt and possible error, in real life, there is no absolute freedom

Freedom = accepting responsibilty for the choices you make (good or bad)!
Choices are about Education. The more Education the more choices.
But if you are a 'procrastinator' education and choices become irreverent.

IMHO freedom is a way of thinking. You can be in prison but set your own mind free a la Mandela or Gandhi, but there are people who appear to have all the choices in the world but are imprisoned by their own small thinking.
