Don't listen to the answer above mine. It's dumb. People that smile are probably smiling because they're happy duh. I had pretty low self esteem but I fixed it boy oh boy. First of all, don't care what other people think. If you carewhat people think you'll come off as unconfident.
Treat everything in a plentiful amount. What I mean is don't fret about stupid stuff. Say you loose your watch. There's plenty of watches around.
When you're feeling low on self esteem from say being made fun of...instead of taking no action take action and speak for yourself. The worst thing to do in any situation is to take no action. This will not help you at all. Taking action will gain your confidence and build your character more. Say you get rejected by a girl, don't care since there are plenty of girls and take evasive action and go talk to like five more girls.
Don't talk negative to yourself....say you do loose your watch and all you do is think "i'm gonna die" ahundred times. That's like loosing a watch a hundred times. Think positively about everything and when you feel that feeling like you feel like crap...insteadof thinking negatively think assertively and in a positive manner.

Pursuing a fallacy like self-esteem is frustrating and constitutes wasted effort. No one needs self-esteem. Depressed people and people with high self-esteem have one thing in common: they all have overpowering egos. No one has any reason to feel pride or shame (don't worry- that won't make us into emotionless robots). People who feel very up or down have formed the habit of overthinking and created an incredible dependency.

By setting goals, making plans and taking fearless action. People with low self esteem are full of excuses.

I found out that ALL people ALWAYS take the line of least resistance. If you take action, there is less resistance than not taking action. If you don't take action there is less resistance than taking action. It is a natural law. People with low self esteem just are not motivated enough to overcome their resistance to change.

Have you ever noticed that when you are involved with a task there is no self esteem problem. That's because you are not thinking about yourself.

perhaps a good piece of advice is not to count yourself to be too inferior to be something great. you got to learn to trust yourself and give it your best shot.

it helps to try to re-evaluate yourself. try to find the reason for believing you have low self esteem. think positive. you are capable of a lot of things. you got hidden potential that's just waiting to be put to use.

perhaps a lack in confidence is the product of the fear of embarrassment. at this point, keep in mind that nobody's perfect. every person experiences slip-ups and the like. situations that are seemingly there to get you down should be viewed as challenges. after all, they happen for a reason (though you may not comprehend at the moment). each trial helps make you stronger.

accept yourself for who you are but remember you still have a lot of room to improve. there's no reason to be ashamed of yourself unless you give yourself a grave reason. perhaps the only thing you should be ashamed of is the bad and wrong stuff you do. know that you could do many great things and trust yourself to be a better person. you know yourself in a way no one else could. you make the choice.
