Yes, all the dust you breath in is trapped by the hair folicles in your nostrils. So from time to time you should indulge. Just don't wipe it on the underside of tables or armchairs. Or do not flick away, it might splat on someone else.
And also picking of one's nose is recommended by me, because, while at it you can ponder over many things.
Be careful that your nails are trimmed or you may scrape the insides of you nostril and get affected or bleed.
Happy prospecting.

I'm so glad you asked this question, because I've been dying to talk about this with someone. ... My fiancee picks his nose and eats it. Like, unashamedly. All the time. I have gotten him to stop doing it in public, but he stills cleans out the garage when it's just us even though he knows it makes me gag and scream and hit him. He claims it's recycling. Like, he's helping stop booger pollution by eating them.

Now, me- I do pick my nose. But my reasoning is that boogers are dried out snot. If the snot didn't dry out, we'd have snot oozing from our nostrils all the time. So picking out the dry stuff is our way of keeping our lower nasal passages clear for air. I have to admit I'm a "flicker," though. Except in the car, then I stash it away under the seat for future flicking (I always forget, though).

There's a difference between picking it and keeping it clean!
Use a Kleenex and saline solution in private, never your bare fingers. I mean... that's just nasty on sooo many levels! Look into what bacteria are in there before you dig too deep. You can really make yourself & others physically... (even seriously) sick!
Just keep it clean!

Healthier than if someone else picks it for you! It's a dirty job, but someones got to do it.

It's neither healthy or unhealthy. Just don't eat what you pick.

No, it can't, but it can cause a nasty infection and cause all sorts of problems (serious ones).
