What does it mean when a girl wears blue jeans? What does it mean when a guy wears Adidas running shoes? Do these questions sound stupid and irrelevant? Why do so many folks assume there is some hidden meaning behind a guy wearing an earring or two? I think way back 35 years ago or so, some gays wore an earring to signal their sexuality. However, the style quickly became mainstream and was adopted by the younger crowd in general. Straight men have been wearing an earring or two for ages. It's just another style. To me, looking for some hidden meaning is misguided. To those people who are so judgemental and naive to think a guy with both ears pierced is gay, I say, "Wake up already. It's 2007. Don't embarrass yourself with your ignorance."

It doesn't mean anything anymore far as sterotypes go. He could like the earrings, going for a personal fashion statement, mimicing somone he saw or admires, wanting to be differnt, think its cool or a thousand other reasons! I don't know why you are asking (maybe just curious i dont know) but I know everyone does it but its important not to judge ppl on the way they look- get to know them dont let 2 ears being pierced make your descion.

Well...it can mean that he wants to be "cool", or has a thing for earrings, or is trying to impress. Right is wrong and left is right, in both ears..... it means nothing.

This day & time, I'm not sure it "means" anything.
I'm a straight male with a great girlfriend & I have a silver hoop earring in both ears. It was actually my girlfriend's idea to pierce both ears (when we started dating I had a stud in my left ear).
I really dig having it & would recommend it to anyone.

it does not mean anything. i have them because i like the way it looks...the balance. having only one on one side would seem weird.
the only meaning i know of referring to ear piercings is that when a guy wears one on the right ear, that means he is gay. whatever...

some people say it stands for being a player, some say it stands for being smooth, but my grandma says that it stands for gay, she says why does any man need both of thier ears pierced unless they want to be a woman!
