Infiniti definitely has gotten better as has Nissan through the years. I can argue (and win) that they have surpassed Honda and Toyota products in the 2000 model years. Early 90s though, there were a lot of kinks in those cars. It will drive for quite a few miles, but expect it to smoke, have ck engine light issues, and maybe even a quirky transmission.

It all depends on the vehicle and the type of Infiniti. It also depends on how well the vehicle was taken care of. I have a 2000 Infiniti I30 with 113K miles on it and I took it on a 1500 mile trip last month with no problem whatsoever. My Infiniti has been taken care of very well, however, and barely shows any signs of aging. Not knowing the mechanical status of your Infiniti, I would check with a mechanic to see if it's sound enough for a trip of this size. The age is the biggest factor here but if the car is in good condition for it's age then I would not worry about the trip.
