Nature instills in us a will to live in order to perpetuate the species. Still, quite a number of people find life unbearable to the point of ending their own.

Disclaimer: I'm not encouraging you to kill yourself.
That apart, I don't think there's anything wrong (in the philosophical sense) with just saying Bye if you feel like it.
But if you're wondering why people don't do it, my answer is that it's an evolutionary thing. People are, by nature, life-positive. Those that weren't died out. (In the sense that when evolution was going on, those with little interest in life were not successful.)
Apart from that, your question boils down to "what is the meaning of life," which we don't want to get into now.
That motivation to live in the sense of "automatically" getting up in the morning and going to work etc. is just inbuilt. It's the result of very little thinking about life. Anyone who does begin to think will ultimately reach a state like yours. And then some wisdom will come, and they'll move on. You'll move on from this question, too.
Do contact me - it's an interesting question. By the way, I live in India.

Well sometimes when I get down I think of those things, I guess what prevents me from doing that is thinking that things will get better, things will change, I do know that saying "what a difference a day makes" really is true. things can change drastically from one day to the next from very bad, to very good. I know I've lived through it many times. I just think It can't get anyworse. I just always think that things will or can get better, so i just go from day to day and think that. Just take one day at a time. I'm all alone, and I have no family, I've got family members that won't speak to me. so i get pretty down, sometimes I don't know why I keep going, but I do. Also I make plans, and change thiings to make things better for me. so that I feel better and not that way. You just have to be strong about it. Good Luck.

I think there are 2 main answers:
1) True enjoyment. It is "normal" for people to actually enjoy most of their life. And as we develop relationships with other people, we can become empathetic for their happiness as well, which might prevent us from harming ourselves, in some cases.
2) I propose there a kind of natural selection is also at work. It is that that many (all?) forms of depression and mental illness are physiological. In at least some of the cases, such physical traits (susceptibility to suicidal depression, for example) would be passed on genetically. But people who tend to be suicidal naturally wouldn't live as long as others and are therefore less likely to reproduce and pass on their genes. Also, consider that all animals have an innate desire to survive. This must be biological. I've never heard of animals being existential, though :)

exciting I merely gave a communication approximately this right this moment. that's biologically geared up into each residing element that it struggles to stay. Survival is the final purpose of each residing organism. duplicate is correct to this, that's the reason the sexchronic is so reliable. considering no guy or woman organism lives continually each organism reproduces. It it nature's thank you to insure that existence keeps. Why are we biologically programmed that way? i don't be responsive to. Victor Frankly a Nazi concentration camp survivor tells us that people who did not have a purpose for his or her existence gave up interior the camps and died. we oftentimes see people who retire and have chanced on no purpose for his or her existence out component to their interest. They die faster after retirement than people who've some thing greater of their lives. If the interest exchange into each thing while they retire they have not something. they'd desire to discover a sparkling purpose pronto or they'll provide up, and die.

EGO. human beings have the tendency to give up or commit suicide. we never opted for that option because of our ego. human beings, regardlessof the number of times they have encountered trials, still have enough pride to save their ego. the ego of human beings is the strongest. it gives us this will. the unconcious and id are weak. thus making us settle more on the the side of the ego to balance things out and make us do things rationally.

to kill oneself is to destroy the world. i'm not sure, but i don't think there is enough evidence of other worlds out there to justify throwing one away. maybe once we find a reflective consciousness somewhere in the universe...oh, and there's all that genetic code selected to protect us from the ravages of time and the environment.

Our wants exceed our despairs. We are afraid we may miss something therefore with the knowledge that all things eventually change, we hang in there.

You are making the point for people that believe in God that
life would be absurd if he didn't exist. So what you need
is God. Start by reading Lee Strobel's books.
