I'm currently on the patch and would like to change to the Nuvaring but don't want to deal with making a doctor's appointment and waiting. Do pharmacist ever give you prescriptions? Would I be able to have a consultation with a pharmacist and get the nuvaring?? Has anyone done this before?

No, a pharmacist can NOT do that. You need the doctor's approval. You CAN, however consult with your pharmacist and ask if he will call your doctor's office and have a new prescription faxed to your pharmacist. But the "script" has to be signed by the doctor. (even if it's the same med, and the same amt. of drug, i.e., mg, mcg., etc.)

ya.. birth control tends to have nasty side effects - pharmacists cant change anything if they are different medicines, only if they are being transmitted differently. maybe you can talk to someone at an arts and crafts store.. tape a birth control patch around a mood ring. no dr's appointment
