Interesting I just gave a talk about this today. It is biologically built into every living thing that it struggles to live. Survival is the ultimate goal of every living organism.

Reproduction is linked to this, that is why the sex drive is so strong. Since no individual organism lives forever every organism reproduces. It it nature's way to insure that life continues.

Why are we biologically programmed that way? I do not know.

Victor Frankly a Nazi concentration camp survivor tells us that those who did not have a purpose for their life gave up in the camps and died.

We often see people who retire and have found no purpose for their life out side of their job. They die sooner after retirement than those who have something more in their lives. If the job was everything when they retire they have nothing. They need to find a new purpose pronto or they will give up, and die.

Life is a binary choice. Either you live or you don't. Sometimes its like kissing the mouth of a gun, a bullet trembling, ready to blow your head off. That is the genius of the hole: no matter how much time you spend climbing out, you can still fall back down in an instant. Death is inevitable. It's a losing game. But we are willing to suffer, to die for the things we care about. You want to give up, but your only chance is to turn around and face it. For love, for the right choices.

Organisms who do not want to survive and reproduce are an abberation in the population that is weeded out by natural selection. Animal life would have become extinct long ago without such a strong survival instinct.

A lack of meaning or purpose in life is often the symptom of a dangerous type of depression. Finding meaning and purpose is a way to combat suicidal depression. You may find that you are the only person in existance that can find your individual purpose or meaning or both. "Us", as used in your question is applicable to only a very few people in our population. Most of "us" find living itself rewarding, meaningful and purposeful. This is the natrual state for every living creature. Perhaps you may find answers in some type of counseling, secular or theistic, that may help you better understand the reason for your question.

Hope, nobody has a life that as perfect as we'd like it to be, but we still hope things will get better. Sometimes we need help to see the positive side of life, especially if we are considering suicide.

Talk to someone. I've seen a few therapists and talked to some close friends. They've given me some good advice.

Evolution is why most people have the drive to live, but nothing keeps us from giving up. Look at how many people commit suicide. In general, those who do give up are ones who feel as though they don't have a place in the world and that nothing would change if they ceased to exist.

Disclaimer: i'm not encouraging you to kill your self. That aside, i don't think of there is something incorrect (interior the philosophical experience) with merely announcing Bye in case you experience like it. yet once you're questioning why human beings do not do it, my answer is that that's an evolutionary element. every physique is, by nature, existence-constructive. people who weren't died out. (interior the experience that as quickly as evolution exchange into occurring, those with no interest in existence weren't valuable.) aside from that, your question boils all the way down to "what's the which potential of existence," which we don't prefer to get into now. That motivation to stay interior the experience of "immediately" getting up interior the morning and going to paintings etc. is merely in-built. that's the effects of little or no questioning approximately existence. every physique who does start to think of will finally attain a state like yours. and then some understanding will come, and that they are going to circulate on. you will circulate on from this question, too. Do touch me - that's an exciting question. by how, I stay in India.

There's nothing wrong in it. It's your life, it's your decision. I am an emergency nurse, I've seen enough suicides. But euthanasia is illegal, so we have to try and save the person, no matter what condition they are in and what damage they have done. We all do have some survival instinct too.....although as 'intelligent beings' we can choose to over ride it

You mean suicide, right? Life is meaningless, so why not just commit suicide, or something to that effect, such as just wasting your life?

But if life is really meaningless, suicide is too, so why bother? We live because it's the easiest thing to do. And because it's more fun that way.
