i got 19 inch samsung syncmaster today at bestbuy it was on sale. but its huge and it hurts my eyes because its so big before i had like a 15 inch crt. i might trade it in for a 17 inch this one is just to be what do you guys think. and its a black color i heard those are bad on the eyes.

if you have sensitive eyes, turn the brightness down. I always use about 50% brightness both at home and at work. I can't handle it if it is too bright.
I use a 32 inch samsung lcd tv as my monitor, you can never go too big.

Myself I would stay with the 19 inch if you get like a Nvidia 7900 to 8000 the graphic are better on bigger moniters. If it hurts your eyes change the settings too make everything on the screen a little bigger. I have a 17 inch and it just doesn't seem big enough. OH Yeah 19 inch is also a BIG PLUS if you have a DVD-ROM

Play around with your screen resolutions and your dots per inch (DPI) settings in Control Panel > Display > Settings and Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced, until you get a maximized window size to your liking.

Personally i like big screens. I have a 19 inch myself and i like itIf it hurts your eyes because the icons and words etc. are too small then try lowering the screen resolution so they will be bigger.

its so big it hurts? I think your resolution is set too low.
Go to Display Properties (right click the desktop and click Properties)
Under the Settings Tab -> slide the screen resolution to 1280x1024 or even 1600x1200. Then click Apply.
The resolution will change and ask you to confirm to keep it.
Things should be smaller then.
P.S. afaik nothing wrong with black monitors

I think you should take 17 because 19 is very near to 21" tv.

No.I think it's not bad.I have 17 inch and i want to buy 19 inch.I don't think that these are bad for eyes.

LCD is so much easier on the eyes than CRT. you will get used to it. pull you seat back some, no reason to sit so close anymore...
