K well where I live it has been all icy out and stuff and my roommate and I have basically stayed here all weekend. I am a smoker but have been trying to cut back alot, so when I wasn't able to get to the store and buy cigs. I was okay with that. Well about an hour ago I decided that I was very proud of myself for not smoking all day and that I had waited and would see if she would let me bum one, so I could smoke just one b4 I went crazy. lol.
NEways she said NO she only has half a pack and that I should have had this guy that came over earlier pick me up a pack b4 it got dark out.
I then got PISSED because I just asked to borrow ONE and I never borrow things from her and she is ALWAYS wearing my shirts and earings with out even asking so I think ONE lousey cig. is no BIG deal ESPECIALLY when she has half a pack. So by then I was so mad that I practically NEEDED a cig. and was OBSESSED with the idea, and she goes out to smoke one. I swear to God I could have slapped her.

Anyways I ended up bumming one from a neighbor so I didn't have to spend an hour deicing my car, BUT DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE MAD AT HER? Or am I just being a baby about this?

That's why I buy 'em by the carton. Really, if she were a friend she should have let ya' bum one. On the other hand they are hers and it is her decision on whether or not to let you have one. Personally, considering it is cold and icy, I think she's being a bit of a b**** about it. 'Cause having been in the same or similar situations it's just something we smokers do. When somebody is out and you got some you loan 'em 'til they're all gone. Then somebody has to make a run. Hold your temper though and just remember that revenge can be very sweet. Next time she's headed out the door in one your shirts just let her know it ain't alright and she will have to wear one her dirty shirts.

Yeah, I think every single smoker in the world would have gotten pissed at your roommate. It's one thing to not let someone borrow a tshirt, but a smoke? People have killed for less! My suggestion is this, move to my spare room and you can bum all the smokes you want ; )
Next time, slap her good and take a photo of it and post it on Y!A so we can all see.

I think your room mate is just being a dick. Its an unspoken law of smoker educate. If you have more then 5 cigs left (maybe more depending on how much you smoke and what your budget for cigarettes are) But you ALWAYS let someone "bum" a smoke. Because you know for a fact that someday your gonna be in that same situation.

I would be totally annoyed too. She had half a pack and you only asked for one. If anything, she could have shared one with you. I can't believe she wasn't a little more sympathetic since she's a smoker too! You're not exactly overreacting but the addiction will make you get a little crazier than you normally would when you're denied a cigarette. I'd be mad at her too but I'd probably get over it by tomorrow (but it would stay in the back of my mind for a long time...)

I think it was pretty selfish of her. I have never refused someone a cigarette if they have asked nor have I ever been told no the few times I have had to bum one. I think you may be over reacting just a tad, but I would definitely remeber this next time she asks you to borrow something. Favors between friend should work both ways

You have every right. I am cutting back too and if my brother(my roomate at the time) didn't give me a cigarette I would be pissed. I swear I would make her walk to the store before I would ever give her a cigarette. I think I may be irritable because I need one right now. Anyway! Good Luck with cutting back.

I am a smoker and in the midst of a dire need for a cig it was mean of her to say no (I'm sure you would've even payed her back as soon as you could anyhow) so yes, you are right to be a bit mad.

Ok, I'm a smoker. I feel she should have given you one because she is your roommate and possibly a friend, and also a smoker so she knows how it is to be out of cigs.
Maybe she's in a bad mood, or just mean.......try to forgive her

You had every right to be pissed, I would have given you one, I know what it's like to not smoke all day, I get mean when I don't smoke, I would have been pissed off too!!!
