Religion is about following dogma, cultural and societal beliefs - spirituality is people taking conscious responsibility for their own lives, and they don’t have to be right except for themselves It is not allegiance to one master: but learning from many masters in the quest for oneness with God.

I don't think the two words lend themselves to pointing out differences, nor do I think they have the meaning. I think that Spirituality is a part of Religion that Religion could not exist without. It's almost like asking is there a difference between a car and an engine. Yes, they're very different, but if you just describe what an engine does, it seems to be remarkably similar to a car. (I apologize my metaphors aren't on firing on all 8 cylinders today.)

Religion is an institution. It is made up of beliefs, rules, practices, ceremony, tradition, history, spirituality, and many other things. Spirituality is a feeling, an instinct, a simple notion. It is the engine of Religion; what makes it run; what makes people go back.

I think spirituality is the individual feeling of closeness to some other power, be it God, Chi, or eternal wisdom. It's the gut instinct that says there IS something, I can FEEL it. We don't all need the tradition, ceremony, or history of religion to know it's there, to be spiritual, but some do. Religion takes spirituality as its centerpiece and builds on it. It offers a guide on how to be closer to the higher power, offers steps to heighten the spiritual aspect of life. It gives that feeling meaning rooted in belief in its meaning, its origin. If offers definite answers and justifications for what seems out of this world.

Yes there IS a difference. The one is an important part of the other, and while they may not be the same, they are not mutually exclusive either.

Spirituality..... I'll say it is the power of belief, it's the felling in your inter person something that you can explain, there is a god and there is nothing else about it.
Religion.... It is the excuse for judging others, if you Had notice all they do is tell others that they're messing something, that what other religions are doing is wrong and who knows what else, who has the right to say what you should do? even if you follow the bible who guaranty you they understood God's message?
