I suffered from mysterious gas pains for most of my life. It was suggested to me that I should increase the amount of ginger I eat on a daily basis, as it's pretty well known for helping your digestive tract. I added ginger to many dishes and drank at least one cup of ginger tea every day. It did not help my gas pains, and the tea made my throat hurt :(
Oddly enough the one thing I changed about my diet that completely eliminated my gas pains was the fact that I stopped eating meat. I noticed an immediate change and it was so simple. If meat isn't really that important to you, I would recommend cutting it for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. But if meat is a staple of your diet that you just can't live without, just keep a box of Gas-X thin strips in your purse... they work pretty well too ;)
