What are some examples of the United Nations stopping war and preventing war and maintaining peace. Are they really helping?

I Agree with Hugo chavez that a new Institution should be made to do the job UN was supposed to do

U.N forces,including U.S.A,Britain and others,in Kosovo.This occured during Clinton's presidency.There are numerous examples.

UN dosent really do S.HIT....it was just created after WWII...its all just for show so ppl think tht somthing is goin on..but the reality is tht 4 troops who arent allowed to shot in Darfur arent really gonna help....
(btw i was exagerating....im sure there are more than 4 troops there)
