Well I was 35 weeks when I delivered. I went to the hosp for a non stress test, and they told me I was staying and having him. Since mine was transverse, I had a c section, and the cord was wrapped around his neck and the placenta was aged. My son was in NICU for 6 days and he was home! the only slight problem we had was he wasn't eating as well as he should have, so they had a tube in his nose to feed him. He weighed 4 lbs 5 oz, and went down to 4 lb 2 oz. If you have a healthy baby, he shouldn't be in NICU too long if at all. good luck and have fun new mommy!!

Yes I had an emergency ceasarian at 34 weeks. My placenta had stopped working and my son was not getting any nourishment he weighted 4.6pounds born. It was all so fast and very scary. When i had him i saw him for 1 minute and then he was wisked away to the Special care unit for 10 days. He is now 2 and Iam once again at the 34 week mark with my second son Its scary but i look at my healthy little 2 year old and know that everything will eventually turn out ok even if he does come early. We have been through alot as a family but its made us stronger. Good luck

i had 2 of my children at 35 weeks and they both came home with me within a day and a half i had a c section too was ready to go home running circles around the nurses. i had another child who was born really tiny at 36 weeks and was in the nicu for 2 weeks. it all depends on whether the babys lungs are muture , whether he is eating what he should be and how is apgars all. It will probably have to do on how much the baby weighs too i know that some hospitals will not let a baby go home if they weigh under 5lbs. but then again you might not have him for a couple of more weeks my 5th dropped at 33 weeks and i held off till i was 38 weeks that was just the way that he was comfortable.

I went into labor the FIRST time at 33 weeks. I was in the hospital for 6 days and they gave me all kinds of IV's and things to stop the contractions. They reluctantly let me out on bed rest and 1 1/2 days later my water broke. I had him when I was 34 weeks pregnant. He had jaundice and low blood sugar. These are very common amongst premature babies. He was in what they called the "special nursery" for 5 days. It was REALLY hard to leave him there, but once you get them home it's all in the past. Best of luck and many congrats! :)

I delivered both of my children at 35 weeks & they came home 24 hours after birth...I would ask your OB to put you on steroid shots for the babies lungs if preterm labor is possible, with out it both children would have stayed in NICU

I first went into labor at 33 weeks but they stopped me from having my son. I had pre-eclampsia and they were going to let me have him until they done the amnio and seen his lungs were not developed. They had given me shots to speed up the development of his lungs. I went into labor again at 35 weeks and they could not stop my labor so i had my son by c-section cause he was breech.
He weighed 4lbs 15.6 oz and was 17 inches long. He was born healthy, no problems and he got out the same day as i did. (3 day stay)
He didn't have no problems at all, he is now 5 years old.
Good luck to you

Mine was treated for jaundice which is common, they keep an eye on their respiratory sometimes oxygen to help lungs develop, also you might ask your ob for a shot to help develop the lungs before you deliver, and sometimes they require a feeding tube due to being born that early but make sure your hospital is equipped for those situations, some do not have a preemie unit for critical care

My friend delivered her twins at 35 weeks, but her twins were HUGE! The girl was 5 lbs 11 ozs and the boy was 6 lbs. 2 ozs. But 35 weeks for twins is a LONG time. Her doctor said as long as she made it past 32 weeks, she would be fine!

i believe at 34 weeks the lungs are developed and that is when they usually say it's not the best, but ok to have the baby then
