The best way to deal with the short pitch ball is to pull. You would find that there is hardly any Indian player who is good at pulling. On the other hand the Australians and the Proteas are quite good at pulling. It has something to do with the bouncy pitches in their respective countries and the practice they have.

The best way, bent and leave the ball to the keeper might you gets a bye 4 runs if keeper miss the ball.

keep eye always in ball if you miss the ball you get heart or edge
and play in back foot with the hook position knee should not bend only tilt body little back and firm grip on bat and swing along with bat to your right side.

Cut, Pull, Leave or Hook (Only hook when wearing a helmet). You could also try to just tip the ball over the slips for 4 or even 6 if there is no 3rd man.

you should play it in the back foot always and it's depend on u that what is the range of the ball comes to u.you should play it as a hook or pull.
