If he can single handedly change America's favorite sport from football to soccer than the investors will be glad they put up the money. But I think that's a pipe dream. Americans aren't about to change allegiances due to one highly overpaid athlete who is past their prime.

The MLS thinks he is worth it, so whatever we say doesn't matter.

Beckham's only 31, so he still has some good years in him. A lot of stars would rather go somewhere where they can start every game rather than sit on the bench, as Beckham is currently doing in Madrid.

By coming to the US, he glamourizes football/soccer here and might possibly entice more stars to play in the MLS. I'm not saying the floodgates will open and Zidane, Ronaldo, and co will flock to the US tommorow, but it's a start.

he is not worth a million a week, however he will be one of the best in the MLS.....its kinda funny....people start out their careers trying to make it big, make it big, then try to revamp another country so they can still make BIG BUCKS. When is ronaldo and ronaldhino coming to the MLS?

no he's over the hill unless LA is thinking he'll get in the papers and on the news all the time being famous and that will make people go to the matches, but I don't think it'll happen. he lost his starting job on Madrid!

he is worth it! understand that once and for all. It sucks the way people forget about beckham's triumphs, and just be belittling him now as if it's all over... I guess it's human nature, that's why the world is how it is...

I don't think so cuz Beckham would be good for 2-3more years but no more. (And LA Galaxy made 5-year deal with him)
