To become an informant you would have to get involved in actual drug buying and such. An alternative is to form a neighborhood watch.

Most inside informants usually turn out to be those that have recently been arrested for posession of large quantities and are looking to receive a lighter prison sentence by helping bring down some known drug dealers.

NARC, or the Narcotics division of the Police Department also deploys undercover officers to infiltrate drug cartels.

I don't know what country your in but you can call crime stoppers in Australia and give tips without giving your name, You can also just call your local station and blab but to tell you the truth, nothing much happens that way. you could also go into your local station ask to see a detective and ask to become a registered informant......and blab, but that's not annon, and if I were you I wouldn't want to piss off any drug dealers, so the best way would be (in Sydney in oz) to call 92810000 which is eaglenet, so your number won't come up ask for the station local to the crime an spill your guts. Good luck

If you know of people dealing drugs and want to stop them contact your local police department. Tell them what you know and let them know your name if you wish but best to remain anonymous.

Other than that you really should become a police officer if you want to do it.

also ask the police if you can do a ride along and see if that affects you thoughts on becoming an informant.

If you are thinking about doing this, be careful and you may want to start packing as a precaution. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find out who reported a crime to the police department.
Police departments are notoriously swamped with administrative work and you likely will not have the benefit of the full protection of the police because you are not actually a police officer. So just be careful, if sh!t hits the fan, you are likely going to be on your own.

I think people get that job by already knowing/being involved with the drugs and then if they get convicted or something they can rat ppl out to get off. or they can get paid by the governemnt. but you gotta know the drug dealers first.

Just call a law enforcement agency and tell them you want to
be a snitch...
Of course, you will have to already be deep into the drug scene
or you will not have anything to tell them...
Don't get caught, you could get killed....
Probably not a very good long term occupation...

go and ask the police on how you would do this. But you do know when you do this you are taking a lot of chances with your life, but if you want to do this then I think that you are a great person.

Why would you want to?

What are the dealers and users doing to you?
