Firstly you did not include whether you are in primary, secondary or techniqual education, this would help to determine what would be best.

However I would personally go for either

Hydrogen The first element,
on the periodic table (which means it is the lightest if you read the table from right to left), is the most abundant element in the universe and is the precursor to all other elements since they are all created in the nuclear reactors that we call stars. Or

The Nobel Gasses,
which can all be found on the far left hand side of the table. These include helium, argon, xenon, etc. and are some of the most usefull elements in our electronic age. This is because the gasses do not react with other elements under normal circumstances. This is important in things like lights bulbs since the filiment would burn out within one second if left in air and welding (M.I.G or Metal Inert Gas) where the metal that is being welded would become britle and unsafe if exposed to normal air, not to mention electronics.

As far as your question about poster or powerpoint, think about the facilities that your faculty has, does it have a good projection system, will it be avaliable for use, how long do you want to keep your work for. A poster properly cared for will last for years, a power point presentation needs a computer with power point on it to run.

Hope this helps.

I always liked the radioactive elements, because their discovery always came along with an interesting story of the scientists who discovered the element.

The radioactive elements are generally the ones in the lanthanide and actinide series at the bottom of the periodic table.

Powerpoint versus poster really doesn't matter, so long as your presentation is well-organized and can be easily followed from beginning to end.

i did that project but i didnt have to present. if u want lots of material take either carbon or oxygen. and do a power point presentation and have some organic structures if u r doing carbon. maybe show how corbon arrangment makes diamonds. here's a website that might help www.mdli.com that's a program that draws chemical structures. hope this helps
