It really depends on if it is a matinee performance or an evening performance. Matinees are very casual and I went in jeans and a nice sweater with a pair of nice shoes. For an evening performances I wore a black dress that was almost floor length with a black wrap and had a small black clutch purse and black heels. We had orchestra seats for that show so I wanted to glam it up a bit. If the show you are seeing is a matinee you can go ultra casual...if it is an evening performance...glam it up a bit. If you are a guy (can't tell!) A nice dress shirt, tie, and dress pants would be appropriate and you could throw in the suit jacket...but it is optional. I hope this helps. What are you seeing? Just curious. Enjoy the show!!

You can wear anything. Seriously. There is no dress code. This is not like the old days where you had to dress up to go to the theatre. Actually, if you get too dressed up like some of the others here mentioned, you will stick out like a sore thumb and look ridiculous. Of course, you don't want to look like a slob or trashy but anything that you would wear to family get-together would be fine. This is the same for both matinee and evening performances. Some people like to dress up a bit and some don't. It's just individual preferance. I saw the evening performance of "Phantom" on Valentine's Day and even then some people were in jeans. Just look tasteful and you will be fine.

Well the most important thing is that you are going. We really need to work at keeping theatre alive and if it take having to have people come in plain jeans and a t-shirt than so be it. Personally I think you should dress up a bit. At least business casual, preferably more than that. I will take any opportunity I can to get all dolled up.

Satin! Faux fur! Dress up, but in a fun, edgy way. Imagine you're going to your grandma's... if your grandma was a burlesque dancer! Or imagine you're going to prom... at the high school of funk. A Broadway show is an excuse to dress up, but don't sweat it. There are so many tourists who go to those things in whatever they got off the plane in that nobody will notice you if you slip into the show in jeans and a dirty sweatshirt.

I've been to tons of B'way shows, and from what I see, people dress casually, pretty much day and night. Jeans and sneakers are fine for the day, but for night you may want to look a little nicer--nothing fancy though...Jeans are still ok, but maybe with a nice sweater and nice shoes...

Shirt, Jacket, Dress pants for men. Dress or Dress Pantsuit for females. Not to casual/not to dressy.

Sunday Dress.

I mean, you can wear anything you want but I'd want to look nice.

If it were me, I'd wear black goucho pants, heels and a cute top (actually, that's what I wore today, so I just kind of made that up).
