Yes it matters. HDD's need to be kept as cool as possible. The heat is from the friction of the spinning disks. The hotter tha spinnin parts get, the wore wear they indore in a shorter amount of time. The same as car.

thus they will crash and burn, or melt, or just stop working. The cooler the better.

i'd ought to assert the HP in the experience that your taking section in any video games in any respect fairly. The HP has an Nvidia card the position because the toshiba has a conventional Intel pics card. The HP has the more suitable puzzling rigidity althought both are gonna look kinda sluggish at 5400 RPM compared to a pcs widespread 7200RPM. The HP only sounds like that's geared more suitable in route of media because it has an SPDIF out. both have an same battery existence.....the HP has in trouble-free words 3 USB ports the Toshiba has 4....if that concerns to you. The HP have a burner with gentle-Scribe...i in my opinion under no circumstances talked about a use for it....yet would nicely be reachable to have. i'd favor the Toshiba's processor yet except that....the HP sounds like that's more suitable constructive suitable for what you want to do. The 2GB of ram upgraded on the HP could likely carry you over for most stuff.

there might be a setting in the BIOS to shut down the computer or send some type of alert if the CPU gets to "x" temperature. typically when it comes to computers heat and vibration are definetly hard drive killers, so that is far more of a concern if any.
