I think the recommended storage is "a coll dry place" but I'm sure yours will be fine in the attic. If they have no chance of water damage that is. If they were valuable cards I would suggest something else, but since they are just commons, I wouldn't worry about them too much. Some people are very anal about this, but, unless they are up there for like 50 years, I think they'll be just fine. Like the guy above me wrote, I have donated some commons to the Good Will and gotten a reciept. If you donate enough, you could get a tax deduction. It's also fun to go through them after several years and see if you have any hidden treasures in there.

Greetings!!
I also live in Ft Worth & happen to have over 30,000 commons taking up space. Most of them aren't worth much, but I can't toss em!
I've begun to find groups to donate them to, like little league sports associations, children;s ward at hospital, or charity groups doing silent auctions to raise funds.
They benefit others, share my love of baseball w others, & even bring a tax receipt for charitable donation in some cases.
I wouldn't store in the basement( I know they don't have basements in TX), or attic. Too much risk of water damage from weather or a fluke pipe leak.
Also, attics often are vosited by mice, squirrels, birds, etc which would love to munch on your cards.

I wouldn't put them in the attic. They really should be stored in a climate controlled place free from moisture and any type of vermin. It's just the best place. If you don't really mind taking the chance, at least make sure they are sealed in water tight containers of some type.

i dont think that is a very good idea becasue rats, and mice might tend to munch on them for a snack. Also i dont think the heat is very good for cards like that, even if they are common baseball cards. I would just pack them in a big storage bin and put it anywhere where you have extra room.

Just like the others, I think It would work out well. I live in North Carolina and have some commons in my storage outside. It gets hot here and very humid during the summer and as long as you don't keep them there forever, they will be fine.

They may just be commons, but you have kept them for a reason--so don't store them in the attic. Weather, plumbimg problems, vermon can all cause problems. I know it happened to me many years ago.

that is a bad place because of two reasons: 1 the dust will ruin them 2. the heat will warp them.

I'll take your cards if you don't want them and they're taking up space.
