Ring it and see who answers it

On the cheap side use reverse look up online through your phone company. Maybe you could ask for an detailed calling list with names. Try typing the number into google and see what happens! Ask him who's number is this b/c you didn't recognize this with out making accusations.

On the sneaky tip I would call from a pay phone just to see who answers. If you know her name ask for her specifically and then hang up. People are still so stupid this day in age they will say she's not home at the moment, moved out , or no one here by this name, maybe she will confirm the fact that it is her herself. My friend once called pretending she was the emergency room and was said this number was listed for an emergency contact, the person confirmed she was only a girlfriend and could not make any decisions. Whatever you do don't call from home.

Expensive side, hire a dective for a bit or find a friend who has nothing to do and can follow him for you undetected.

Personally I would ask him outright and then employ all other tactics in an effort to find out more info so that I could catch him. Don't drive yourself crazy doing this stuff though. Keep your eyes open for any signs and bottom line don't put up with what feels wrong.

go to www.whitepages.com and type in the phone number there under reverse number search. If its not listed then call then number and ask for the ex by name. If and when she answers just hang up. If she calls back or if your husband finds out somehow...just say yea I was snooping around and found the number, why were you calling your ex? He better have a good reason.

First, how did you find the number? did you snoop? Or, on a phone bill that is open to your review? If you did snoop, it may be hard to "ask him" who it belongs to. But, that is what I would recommend first, asking him. If you snooped, I would call from a pay phone, or have someone else call for me. My advice however personally, is to be open with your husband, and ask him, explain why you are feeling the way you are.

First of all Im sorry that you even are facing this I know it is really rediculous you have to do it this way but most people are cowards and if I were you I would call and find out most the time if it is a mistress she does not know about you and she will be willing to tell you the truth it kind of sucks that your husband that you have known for X amount of years wont tell you but the possibilities of a stranger being honest is higher anyways hon call it and stop the cycle and take care of your mental good luck again Im sorry you are going through this

Ask your husband who the phone number belongs to..
Ask him where the number came from...
Ask your husband if he would mind if you called it to find out...
You are his wife..
You have a right to know...

firstly how have you obtained this phone number. If by deceptive means such as snooping you may be putting your relationship at risk. If you have noticed a change in behaviours in your man then you need to communicate these to him and establish what is causing them. If you know the number from obvious means like a phone bill or displayed number then by all means ask who's it is

look it up on Yellowpages.com then if you don't find it there just have a friend or you call it and say that you seen the number on your phone and was trying to find out who called you (a small white lie)... Then if you find out it is the x, drop him, unless you need him for financial, emotional, or family needs....I don't know after that though. Cant help too much in that department.

First of all call the number and see if you can get anywhere. If that doesn't work then talk to the telephone company and have them trace the call. Or if you think it might help have the police check it out for you.

Have a male buddy call the number and pretend to be with the phone service. See if he can find out where to mail the "rebate."
