it truly is feasible to believe without being conceited. it truly is probable now impossible to be conceited with no need self assurance. The transition from mere self assurance -- an important prerequisite for mature, nicely adjusted self-love -- to overt conceit (immature insecure vanity) comes with gross over expression. interior the social gathering you presented you've not crossed the line. Your buddy looks to have already got the shortcoming of self assurance and immaturity: per chance with application she ought to aspire to reaching that which she accuses you of?

Either way, there's pretty much no way to look at someone and know whether they are confident or conceited. It's good to think that you are perfect in a way, but it goes over the line when you think too highly of yourself that it negativly affects others.

You can be confident without always trying to draw attention to yourself. I think it's called quiet confidence. Where you can act assure of yourself without saying "I'm great" or whatever. While confidence isn't having low self-esteem and shrugging yourself off, it's also not drawing attention to yourself and MAKING everyone know just how "confident" you are.

Being confident is different from being conceited. One can be confident without being too much into him/herslf.

Are they loud and obnoxious? Shy and retiring doesn't work either.
I like balance. I'd desire to be perceived as balanced!
