Prostrate Enlargement, usually called BPE, includes the word Benign. That means not harmful. It's a pain, but it's inevitable in all males as we get older.

What you need to do is get your blood checked every year for PSA - this determines prostrate cancer risk. It's also a good idea to get a digital rectal exam (your prostate checked) every year from the age of 40. It's not as bad as everyone likes to tease. It's like defecating backwards. It's over in a second.

It's worth it for avoiding the cancer. If you catch it in time, you can beat it. I know because a dear friend of mine is a survivor of prostate cancer. I've been checked and it's not a big deal.
