I don't think they called themselves outlaws, but I know it was something like that it's driving us crazy we just can't seem to remember what they refered to themselves as.

The Highwaymen was a "country supergroup", though it was comprised of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Merl Haggard and hank Williams Jr were not in The Highwaymen, though both men often shared the stage with varous members of The Highwaymen.

All of the men mentioned here referred to themselves as "outlaws" and their music is still frequently called "outlaw country" due to their rebellious attitudes.

They did indeed call themselves outlaws. They did things the way they wanted to, not the way the record companies wanted them to.
