My grandmother and aunt both recently died and I was looking for a song for them. I was very close with both. I prefer country music. Thanks :)

Sorry about your loss.

Maybe this Beatles song will work for you.
It's called In My Life

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I loved you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I loved you more

In my life I loved you more

Look to Reba McEntire for the perfect songs about life situations. 'For my broken heart' is a great one and helped me get over the death of a loved one. she has so many that deal with this issue of missing a loved one who has passed on. sisters is also a good one to check out.
I'm so sorry for you're loss.

"Missing You" with Brandy, Tamia, Gladys Knight, others. From the movie "Set It Off". The song is very touching.

Well I think that Go Rest High on that Mountain by Vince Gill would be perfect!

hmm. I know I know a bunch, but the only one that sort of has that vibe that I can remember is "Julia" by the Beatles. it's about the guy's mom being gone and him half-mourning over her and half-moving on.

and I'm very sorry about your loss. hopefully you can get through it okay.

one of the saddest, in the context of losing someone, is Boys 2 Men's "it's so hard to say goodbye"

sorry it's not country
