The Turions and the Centrinos aren't that different. They're just competing products. This is kind of like asking what the difference between Coke and Pepsi is.

You'll find reviews out there. But in brief, I can just say that the Core 2 Duo is the best processor you can buy right now for laptops in terms of overall performance and battery life.

AMD's Turion 64 is nice, but it's for the older Centrino. AMD does have a Turion X2 which is much faster, but it still loses big time when up against a Core 2 Duo from Intel. Although AMD and Intel are always neck and neck in the desktop PC market, when it comes to laptops, Intel has held a commanding lead the past 3 years.
