Are they?
I have yet to meet a man who would not go to the shop for their partners menstrual products, and pick up the correct brand and type to boot. I use a menstrual cup so never need to go to the shop or send a partner, but if that was not the case my current and ex-partners would have no problem with it. In fact I wouldn't get involved with a man who did have a problem with it; a problem with menstrual products suggests a problem with basic female anatomical functions.
I find women are a lot more concerned about buying their own menstrual products and menstruation in general to be honest due to the constant messages from menstrual product companies telling women their periods are dirty, smelly or embarrassing.
I used to have menstrual themed badges on my bag a few years ago, on public transport women would move away from me out of either disgust or embarrassment, where as men would actually come up to me asking me questions or saying how cool the badges were. Men and women have different hang-ups about it, but I think women are the most affected by their hang-ups of embarrassment, with the few men who have problems with it then it is more to do with misunderstanding.

I don't have a problem with buying them. As a matter of fact I think it's funny to see the look on the cashier's face if it's just me. Especially if the cashier is elderly or another guy.
