My tarot reading says that I will end up with this person in 3-4 years' time and that I should remain calm. I was not discouraged from contacting him. We are good friends, but, I know for the time being, he's not interested in me. We have flirtings before, we have gone out before... Is it worth the while to pine for his love/wait for him or move on?

the tarot cards cannot predict the future. All they can do is give you advice on what is happening in your life at present, and possibly how, if you remain on the path you are now on, will lead. For example, you may well end up with this guy, but we all have an element of free will. So its up to you.
Perhaps you are not ready yet to move on and your inner voice is telling you to wait. This may change is a few months, so the safety of waiting for this guy will no longer be relevant.
The cards picked up on your desire to be with this man, but also your innate knowledge that he doesn't want you,....yet. It is easier for your ego to accept this. It all may change in a few years, and you will allow other options into your consciousness.

Well, to put it bluntly. tarot readings aren't worth counting on in the first place. There is no point in waiting on him for 3-4 years. I mean that's just crazy. Seriously what happens, happens and well right now it isn't that so move on and date. You will eventually find someone good for you even if it isn't that guy. And well if it does end up being him then great. But there is no point in wasting your time waiting on him. Most likely if you wait you will miss out on a bunch of great people and other stuff. Listen to this: "You will meet a lot of people in your life, and whether you get to know them or not is your choice. But the more you get to know them the stronger you will grow as a person". Don't want to hurt you, but if your going to spend you life based on a tarot reading you are never going to do much with it while your waiting for those things to happen are you, get out into that big wide world and have some fun and if and when the time is right for you to be with this man it will happen if its meant to be, you can't force things to happen or sit back and wait for them to either, go and have some fun and let your future take its own course, good luck and be happy.

well i personally trust tarot readings. I used to do them a bit, and it was correct. but i never got an answer that told me so... directly... did you do the tarot readin, was it on the internet, or did you pay for it? either way, In my situation at the time it's similar. I have a very close friend of mine, we've gone out, we still flirt a lot, but he has a girlfriend, and I don't believe he's interested. My advice anyway, is just go with your instincts. I usally do and they don't let me down. maybe you should date around for a while, who knows, maybe in 2 or 3 year, they will be interested. but don't wait around for him. just let it happen

There are many different types of interpretation, but the cards should be used as a guidance tool, or even an educational one, not for predicting the future, as it takes away your element of free will. Your future is your own, the cards have just picked up your sub conscience desires and, seems you have to wait (!!!), your sub conscience reality. 3-4 years is a long time to pine, its yours to live, try to enjoy it as best you can.

If you are good friends and you don't think a relationship would ruin that i would say to wait for him and until then just remain good friends sometimes the best relationships are the ones that the people started out good friends

OMG..... please tell me you don't believe this stuff!!!!
I think tarot reading is a 'bit of fun' NOTHING else, don't live your life by it - it also comes down to ALOT of 'self interpretation' (exactly like the bible, people read it how they want to read it, and see things how they want to see them!!!)
No, don't wait, either tell the bloke you like him or forget about him and move on - don't WASTE 3-4years of your life 'just waiting'!!!!
