You can download and run the free version of the program Limewire (http://www.limewire.com). The program itself is clean (unlike Kazaa or Morpheus), although you can still download a virus. So be careful, and I would advise you to avoid .wma files, since they often contain bugs that target security flaws in Windows Media Player.
Limewire is best for obtaining single songs.
You can also use a Bittorrent client, such as Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php). The best place to find torrent files would be www.mininova.org.
Bittorrent is best for large files, such as whole albums.
Both of the above are file-sharing programs.
Contrary to popular belief, I do not believe that downloading copyrighted material is illegal, although DISTRIBUTING it is.
Although frowned upon by other users, both of the above programs can be set to "leech," which is to download without letting other users upload from you.

its looks to me that hannah and anfrny are pc stupid you dontget virusus on limewire you basically get em in case you acquire courses the sogs are virus freea dn in case you want a quickly one limewire is it I easily have limewire ok people and that i havt gotten one virus from music on condition that my first use 2 years in the past yah 2 years and not using a virulent disease from the music see im a working laptop or pc consumer im on it regularly like 9 hours an afternoon i acquire numerous music off of limewire i had an mp3player i positioned my LIMEWIRE music onto it not something befell its ineffective cuz i lost it my uncle has an iopd and he comes over to place music directly to it limewire music no viruses so yah dont hear to those people its secure on condition which you have anti-virus merely incase

limewire is the best one for music but almost anything else u download through limewire has alot of viruses but for music it is great

Limewire.com but i recomend deleting it off after you are done downloading just in case of virus's, or Morpheus, or i think its called bearshare.
