well...not sure what you are trying to do but try this...

if you array two magnets opposite one another....they attract.....if you reverse that polarity they oppose.....

You can demonstrate this in a graphical fashion using iron fillings...you can get them at a brake repair shop for free...put a paper over the magnets and sprinkle iron fillings on the paper....a pattern will occur which you can then photograph....reverse the magnet poles and do it again..you will have to secure the magnets....a different picture will emerge...compare and contrast them...

We call the current arrangement "normal" but for more than 50% of the Earth's life, the north magnetic pole has been in the south. It will go back there again soon. (Soon in geologic time, not human)
