Forensic scientists analyze the physical evidence they receive
from police, then prepare reports describing the results of their
analysis. Beginning forensic scientists usually have at least a bachelor’s degree in forensic science, chemistry, biology, physics, or physical anthropology. Most forensic scientists work in crime laboratories run by city, county, or State governments.
On the other hand, upon completion of the Mortuary Science curriculum and licensing requirements of the states in which students intend to practice, students are prepared to own and operate a funeral establishment or to serve as a pathologist’s assistant, autopsy assistant, anatomical embalmer, anatomical technician, or thanatologists assistant.
Employment opportunities exist with funeral homes, hospitals, medical schools, health, and the offices of medical examiners or coroners for those graduating in mortary science.
I prefer forensic science which I want to major in because it seems like in mortuary science you work a lot with the dead. Its your personal preference. Crime scene analysis and working with the police or furneral director and such. What ever you think you can tolerate. Good luck!

Salutations,
Choosing a glamorous field in whatever depends on your likes and dislikes my companion on the road to eternity. Here though are some things to consider: Mortuary deals more with goodbye than the Forensics why.
Forensics deals with the time than the dearly departed family wishes, lastly I hope my short answer helps you decide, on a college displine.

Forensic science is going out to the field and searching, obtaining, and collecting clues and physical evidence of the crime scene and victims. Bringing back the collected material and bodies and beginning the lab work of identification. Mortuary science is the doctor or medical staff that perform autopsies on the corpse of deceased victims of crime or natural causes.
