The baby is way down in my pelvis area and adding a lot of pressure. I can barely walk or stand. At times i feel like she is on her way out. earlier this evening i didn't know whether i was having gas pains or contractions but the pain was severe. Is this normal or is something very much wrong?

it is normal--all babies are situated inside differently as baby gets bigger you are going to feel a LOT more pressure down below, just wait until your last trimester and your last few weeks.
try laying down on your left side for a bit--that should take some of the pain/pressure away.

When in doubt check it out just to make sure.

Your body constantly changes as it gets ready for the labour.
Your pelvis expands and ligaments start to loosen up.

I remember it went to a wedding when I was 7 months and danced a little, after that she was pushing into the pelvis so hard for about 2 hours. I was in pain but I just massage the area a little and she moved back up.

I went into labour 5 days early and had a healthy baby girl.

All the best

I have no idea but I would call your Ob's after hours line or call ER and ask to speak with a nurse.. They can let you know if you should go in. I am 5 mos and carrying very low too, the more I do during the day makes it harder to walk at night. Sometimes I can barely stand and have to hobble to bathroom.. OB told me I was fine... although some of my probs are that I am very petite and was not in best shape before getting preg. Anytime something is severe I would call Dr immediately or just go to ER. Good Luck!

Whenever you aren't sure about something, the first thing you should do is call your doctor. Believe me, the day or hour doesn't matter - they WANT you to call when you aren't sure about something, especially if you think something might be wrong. They FAR prefer that you call them in the middle of the night when it turns out to be nothing than not call and end up losing the baby because it was something. If you just can't bring yourself to call your doctor's answering service at 2am, just go to the hospital. They'll check you out and call your doctor (or whoever is on call for them that night) if it's something to be concerned about. Logging on to Yahoo! Answers should be the last thing you do, not the first.

Last night I was in alot of pain (I'm 22 weeks pregnant). I was having horrible pains down low and I was ready to have my husband take me to the ER. I took a warm bath and it helped, but didn't stop it. I wasn't in HORRIBLE pain but I was worried they were contractions and if I didn't do anything I would be in trouble later. Anyway...I went to bed and found a position that I was comfortable with and the pain seemed to stop. I slept well and just took it easy today. The pain hasn't bothered me today but I plan on taking it easy the next couple days just to be sure.

If your pain doesn't subside soon, I would go to the ER, just to be sure.

Good luck to you!!!

I had the same thing, with the pressure the doc said it was normal but it was really unbearable! About the headaches, He has me on the lookout for preeclampsia and toximia and he told me if I have a headache that wont go away with tylenol that I should call him right away and get checked on. Good luck

Something is not right. Get your doctor to check you out. Find out the cause of pain - is the baby causing you pain?!

You should be enjoying the fun, glowing portion of the pregnancy, that part between nasty morning sickness and the last trimester miseries of swollen ankles and baby feet in your lungs. Get yourself to a doctor ASAP.
